About Software Mastermind Groups

There have been an enormous number of developers who have been laid off in 2022/2023. One thing that's interesting is that some developers have been able to find work within weeks (sometimes even days), while others struggle for months.

The naive explanation for this is that this represents a difference in technical ability.

That explanation is almost certainly wrong. Plenty of great developers have struggled to find their next position. Software Mastermind Groups was built on the premise that there is a huge disparity with the quality of many developers' professional network.

Why is networking so hard? There are so many tools out there to help.

The answer isn't simple and Software Mastermind Groups does not claim to solve it completely. We're just trying something different.

A mastermind group is a small group of 4-8 people who discuss the in depth technical details of a project. It is more interactive than going to a larger talk and you get a better sense of someone's technical expertise than you would from a traditional networking event.
